Dear Planet of Hopes,
December 26, 2001
Today is our one month anniversary. That’s right, Liudmila and I got married
on November 26, 2001, one month ago today. And I have to say, neither of us
could be happier. Our relationship began over a year ago when I answered an
ad through Planet of Hopes in Saratov, Russia and has been a wonderful learning
experience for both of us. We managed to overcome the initial difficulties of any
relationship and finally meet in St. Petersburg in July of this year – it was a
wonderful 10 days that neither of us will forget in a lifetime.
Throughout the course of our separation, she in Saratov and I in San Francisco,
Planet of Hopes was always there to help us in any way possible. From immediately
translating my letters to seeing she received them as soon as possible, to giving
her friendly advice about our impending marriage to visa questions – Planet of Hopes
was always there to help.
